So you have finally solidified the fact that you will be travelling somewhere and now you know where you will be travelling! Now the fun part starts… planning the whole thing. You need to decide on many different aspects of this trip, which is very difficult. You need to focus on saving money while getting a good deal and you need to focus on meeting everyone’s expectations.
When planning a vacation, one of the biggest necessities is deciding where to stay. When in the United States, most hotels do not allow you to stay unless someone is over 21. Thankfully, websites like airbnb.com have emerged as a way around this. Airbnb is not as dangerous as the news makes it seem to be. When booking, only reserve from people who have been extensively reviewed. Look for places that are close to the action… you may pay more, but you will save on travel expenses.

When traveling abroad, especially in Europe, utilize hostels. Hostels are dorm-style residencies. You are in a room, typically with bunk beds, with strangers from all over the globe! These tend to be very cheap and perfect for college travelers. Make sure to research hostels and make sure you find one in the middle of the sights and it is clean!
Once you have where you will stay planned, you need to create a calendar that lays out where you will be going on each day and what you will be doing. Make sure you plan plenty of days for sightseeing, relaxing, and exploring. When planning, it is important that you leave room to do random, unplanned activities. These last minute activities can be filled with things you just found out about. You never know what will happen or who you meet, so you will want to leave some buffer space!
